Will suggested that I post this question in this section.Since i am new to the czech lines can anyone give me info on thes lines? They are Quino z Pohranicni straze and Ciga od Hranicnej rieky. Also how will these dogs in general compare to the west german working line dogs?
My Czech female has very high drives. She is my first working dog and she is awsome. I will get another when the time is right. Just thought I would add my two cents. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
I'm bias. . .my grandfather was a Czech and an old time dog man.
I'll say this though, I more often find ALL the working traits I like in dogs that are from Czech bloodlines. Hardness, sharpness, and balanced drives.
I have a 3 year old Male half east and half Czech lines (Pohraniccni Straze). He is a little different than my last dog which was all West German working lines. He has a little more guard drive and is sharper. All in all he has turned out to be a very good dog. This is the first dog I have ever had with Czech lines.
I read the pedigree, man that's a good way to get a sore neck!!

Not sure this bitch's bloodlines represents the very best (or at least best-known) czech bloodlines. For instance Stormfront's Brawnson sire Arko Honest is in there as is Fax Bernhart Mader but no Grim, Tom PS, Titus, Chuligan, Klara PS, Gero Blatenskeho or Art Lipin.
My pup has some czech lines in it's pedigree and I concur with Will in that it has lots of drive, can be obnoxious (no middle ground, either asleep or full on - not a lap dog you can pat for moer than about 5 seconds!!) and is a fraction sharp and suspicious of strangers who approach from distance but once introduced to people generally wants to play, jump all over them, stratch & lick them to death.
good luck Jim, make sure you do your homework and don't rush in if you're not sure.
I have a pup out of TOM PS.
He is full of energy, nice size, collor.
Full of drives. I can say one thing, he has more of a defense drive than prey, and any prey he has is more directed to a person, and not the sleve.
Just like a real police/border-patrol dog should be.
He is definatelly not a lap dog: maybe 5 seconds to be pet, and off he goes....
Very nice structure, very nice head, compact, yet impressive
