I know that PPD's are very rarely called on for more than warning off a culprit, but... Could anyone recommend a good source of information on the contexts for legitimate and defensible use of a PPD? Some cases are nonproblematic. What about the others, for those of us who don't have training in the issues of law and who might, in addition, be short on "street wisdom"?
It would be nice to find something that sensibly represented the legal and other issues. I dislike the thought of owning a good protection dog without some pretty solid self-training (at a minimum) in the issues involved. What sources are there? (Seems to me that K9 officers must run into ambiguous situations, and there might be a good training manual or two written for them that protection dog owners could glean a little info from.)
All kindly advice appreciated by this newbie. Thanks in advance.
