ASR is looking for people with an interest in Protection Sports!
ASR is starting a comeback and has a seminar planned for Sept. in Florida, along with new trials being firmed up.
We have redone our current website and we will continue to stress ethics in trialing and judging, along with providing dogs with real world scenario's for protection.
Taken from the ASR introduction page:
"Although no drastic rules changes will be implemented, there will be
many operational and procedural changes that will make ASR more clear,
open and understandable. We will make ASR more accessible to anyone
interested by posting current rules, decoy guidelines, events, results, and by
explaining infractions and penalties on the Website."
We have an active yahoo discussion board also in place for information exchange.
Feel free to PM me for further info, or any of the contact points listed on the ASR website.
Not sure if my private note reached you but I am very interested in getting more information on ASR.
I have visited the website but still have many questions.
Please let me know how I might be able to locate any video tape of past trials or the upcomming seminar. I am also wondering if the organization has any plans to hold trials in the midwest or West coast?
Natalie- Thank you for the post. We really have a good time training.
Sammy- Wish I could make it. Maybe you'll come watch the FR trial in Austin in Nov.
Vadim,
got your PM ( man...I need to check those more frequently! )
There is a guy named Dogman Dave that has done several good video's of different ASR trials, he had a website which is currently down but I'm forwarding you his E mail address via PM.
An ASR workshop weekend is now set for Aug. 21st and 22nd at Green Cove Springs, Florida. There are already folks coming down from Indiana, and ASR has some members in the North East also, but the majority of members are in the South East ( which you already know )
We're developing more members in Texas, and may soon be able to start a club there, but the members in the west are *really* spread out, so no plans for a West Coast trial <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />
I'm looking forward to Sammy's PSA trial - hopefully there will be a wide variety of dogs to see!
Thanks for the note.
If there is eventually a trial in Texas I will be there!! I am orginally from Dallas.
Have fun at Sammy's should be a good time....
Vadim, I may just have to try and get down to Jeff's in Nov!
Will - we should have a blast - and yep, I anticipate many different breeds, from different backgrounds. We have 4 SchH dogs from our club alone competing... as well as a Bandog, Staffy, Mals, American Bulldogs and hopefully a Dobe.. and they are just our club dogs. We are going to theme the trial with it being Halloween weekend.. so that should add a little fun in there!
Hope to see ya there - I will be posting info soon!
P.S - I wouldn't mind one of those ASR videos too..
