Would like to hear from people that successfully have muscled up their dogs and how..
I am currently running my boy up hill (sprints) for a ball and another dogs as competition. I have also started him pulling with a harness but am yet to build something for him to pull on the sand...
Ozzie, it sounds like are on the right track as far as quick sprints up the hill. A lot of other things come in to play though too. Nutrition is a big factor, in order for your dog to turn food into muscle it must be of high high quality. It must have a high quality protein as the #1 ingredient. Just curious, why do you want your dog to look like Hulk Hogan?
I've heard of good results by using a treadmill-with carpet mills being more strenuous of the two types of dog mills. It offers more resistance than running, and really allows the dog to run full out without 'waiting' for the human jogging partner.
Another more pit bull-specific activity is the springpole, a suspended chew toy for the dog to tug on.
rottnvegas i got my boy 2 months ago and he was right out of condition. first months spent on general conditioning (swimming) he loves it.. Now i have started working on muscle .. he has put on 3 Kilos of lean muscle in 1 month... Just like the way he is looking.. His sire is over 40kg and my boy is at 36kg..
ok had a look at mills... Interesting... I have incorporated weight pulling for strength... I will see what the spring pole is like see if he likes it.... Might get him to run up hill with weight :-)
