Anybody do anything creative during the winter to keep their dog in good shape and reflexes quick?
It has been a very icy winter here and we have been slipping alot, already had one knee laceration that needed stitching. I have a pool but it is NOT heated
Dog food is California Natural so no problems there.

Head south! We're in the upper 70's today and the sun is out.....seriously though, have you thought about a treadmill? It's what I used when I lived in Ohio....mostly my dogs LOVED snow but ice IS tricky.
I live in Pennsylvania and we get alot of cold and snow. I live by a baseball field that us usally covered by snow and or ice. I the field is icy I usually walk my dogs around for a short period of time so they get the feel of the ice. I also use thier slow command so they get a sense of what thier walking on. They usually excersise thier own level of caution after slipping and sliding a little on lead. I also take the opportunity to work on thier down stays and ball retrieval when I throw the ball straight up in the air. When thier is a good deal of snow on the ground I let the ball get lost and encourage them to find it. For this excersise I use tennis balls with a strong sent. I put the balls in a coffee can with cheese or sausage for a time. This is really fun in the morning when thier hungry. rarely do they lose track of the ball. I don't let them stay out to long, 1/2 hr or 45 min when its below 15 degrees. Even though they don't seem to mind I don't like the ice build up on the paws and eyes.
Here's a good tip for those who live in the Mid-West as I do. Try calling around or asking someone in your club if the know of anyone with a indoor riding ring (Horses)
I have allowed mine to be used when I am not going to turn the horses out and the dog owners seem like general good people. It always seems horses and dogs go together.
We live on the state line almost of Illinois and Wisconsin so I use it often. Also I have the horse jumps set up and many other things the dogs may play with, the ring is heated and is quite large at 600 by 200.
Just an idea for those cold days and to hot in the sun days.
