i have an 11-month old male puppy that loves to ride on the blanket and bite it while you pull it across the floor. he also likes to hump the blanket! what is the meaning of this behavior? i know both male and female dogs will hump to show dominance.... is that what is happening here? he was the alpha male of the litter but i was surprised to see such behavior in such a young dog....
Lyn,
That happens to all of us..my pup started that at 4 months, it will pass, now he just wants to hump other dogs....I would prefer the blanket myself LOL it's much easier to go for a walk. Now is a good time to train the "No Hump" command, it will come in handy later trust me. Remember, the Alpha gets first choice of humping the blanket and if he/she don't feel like humping the blanket, we reserve the right to keep lower ranking pack members from humping it as well.
If you decide to push that dog out of the way and hump the blanket first, please take video. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> As a training refrence of course!
