Firstly, I would like to congratulate those responsible for introducing a General Conversation board ~ it's about time!
Secondly, I would like to know what exactly we are allowed to talk about and what we're not ~ does it still have to be related to dogs?
Thanks

I would like to think that Lonny B, and I had a hand in getting it.
Just a bullsh#t forum. Keep it where no one gets offended. Good way to talk and not tie up someones questions on training.
Damn dog going berserk, hope no one wants to BBQ him! Let me go see.

Nah. It's all because Ed is getting a headache listening to VanCamp's "BAM!" every six seconds or so.

It's all Butch's doing I just sat in the background like a fear biter and said "Yeah Yeah, bullsh** forum Ed" I would imagine anything goes here as long as we keep it civil and all that, I'm sure a hostal thread will bring a swift end to our hard earned relaxing forum.

It probably also wouldn't be too cool if Ed gets back, logs in, and notices that under "Today's Active Topics" there are 12 things going on under "General Conversation" and 2 threads that are discussing dog training. Bet he'd wonder why he even keeps the web board open. I know I would...

I agree with Pete. Let's keep in mind what separates this web board from others. I'm all for having a good time, but let's not get too carried away with the general conversation forum. I'm sure what Pete said about having a bunch of these open, and only a couple of dog training threads, is not what Ed had in mind. Just a wild guess though.

I'm still somewhat confused,
As far as I can see, the only thing that prevents people from having fun and learning at the same time is intelligence......or the lack of it.
If you don't want to read the odd joke or two, then don't read 'em ~ simple as that. If humor offends you so much, then perhaps you should spend less time with your dogs and more time with people ~ it's having an adverse affect on you.
I have to say, I think some of you are far too anally retentive for your own good. Relax a little, step down fron your ivory towers and recognise that this board is for everyone, provided they behave accordingly.
Thanks for your time
Andy

I understand what your saying but someone liting a dog on fire is not a joke here on this board. People and myself included are so attached to dogs that it's almost a condition. Whether that's good or bad is unimportant to me, that's just the way it is.
I don't deny that many people here are WAY too uptight, sometimes I'm like that myself. It's probably not a good thing but I think that's just the American dog community for you.
You have to understand that telling a pedofile joke could perhaps get you farther along on this board than lighting a dog on fire Andy. At the least, it's in the same ballpark. (with this group it is) The image itself is enough to make people want to grab a shotgun.
And like I said again there is some real hot tempers and egos here, but if you know it's that way, what did you think the response would be?
As far as the 10 gun theoretical, I think most people were still angry on the dog joke. Just a tip, but that is what I would recommend. You can take the advice or leave it. Now believe me man, I have made some serious mistakes on the board, I've said things that were wrong, out of line, and ate my words like anyone else. So just think before you do. Don't rock the boat is all I'm saying.
Now it's not that I don't have a since of humor, I have a very morbid sense of humor. I got some wild views that would offend alot of people, BUT I'm not going to say or joke about it because I know it would cause a rift. You see what I'm saying? lol
As a golden rule though for you or anyone else I wouldn't make a joke regarding any form of violence or ill to animals. Everyone understands you were joking I think, but no one liked it. lol Believe me I've been in trouble for less.

Now if you really want laughs, if you have a stuffed animal head, a deer mount for instance put it in the covers and watch your wife or girlfriend wake up screaming. A little Godfather humor for you. If you have a video camera I highly recommend taping it. You won't be disappointed. Make sure though that you put where your head would normally be. This way then they wake up they get to have Buck stirring them in the eye. lmao!
Now another one, take a piece of black electrical tape and wrap it around your little squirter hose on the side of the kitchen sink. Make sure the nozzle is in their direction, whoever the unfortuate party is, it's best for someone who lives there this way they think it's broken. When they cut on the faucet they get a good hosing of water, you'll usually hear a squeal and maybe a few words while they then procede to tell you the sink is broken. It works well with the ladies for some reason they have trouble figuring this out, lmao! Just joking. Now don't expect the reaction of the deer head, those are some loud screams, very loud. lmao!
