I hated to start another topic here, but I didn't want to interrupt the jokes either.....
Do any of you guys/gals have one of those "doggie dooley" waste digesters? Just wondering if they worked or not before I wasted my $$ buying one from foster's and smith.
What about the cooler bed you fill with water? I'd hate to waste that kind of cash on something dog's really hate to lay on.......
I don't have a doggie dooley now, but did before and as long as you don't live in an area where the ground freezes they work great.
So far as the cooler beds, I have heard mixed reviews. I found a link on how to make your own out of pillowcases and it is pretty simple. I still haven't done it though.
I guess 3/4 of they year would be better than nothin' especially since what I'm after is a way to get rid of this stuff along with the stink and the flies in this heat. How does the dooley work out in those two regards?
I've wachted my neighbor pick his up and throw it down the storm drain in the street....

I have a dog bed that uses 4 gel packs for a total area of approx 24 X 36 inches. You can freeze or microwave the gelpacks for a hot or cold bed. The gel packs are still pliable when cold.
The dogs haven't used it yet- I preempted them- temps over 100 degrees, I sleep days and no air conditioner- I decided I needed to test it first :-)
Yes, it works, it's comfortable to sleep on, and lasts about 6 hours. But, it may need some more "testing" before I use it on the dogs- especially if our weather turns hot again.

I have a Doggie Dooley system for my 4 dogs and it does not work if you feed a raw (or BARF) diet. It even states in the directions that you need to add extra enzymes if you feed a premium dog food but even that does not help--- I just chuck the poop over the fence into the woods now!!
It keeps the neighbor kids away from my fence line too!! (land mines)
Try using the Kibble food bags, Pick up waste, place in Old Kibble bag, fill to to heavy to carry, place out for Garbage or waste truck to remove. Recycle whenever possible.
The Doggie Dooly sounds like a good item.
What a Crappy subject!
Well dang it! I just switched Heidi to Homemade raw- so I guess I won't be buying the dooley after all. Yeah, it's a yucky subject, but Cindy just saved me some $$ and I really like that. No more kibble bags around the house either though....
