Did I miss a post somewhere in the last few days. On what can you discuss on the GENERAL DISCUSSION THREAD? I posted when it was first created that we should keep it dog related, but also to use it so that a topic doesn't get off track.
If the moderators don't like the topic, let them close it. No different then other threads that they don't like or agree with.
Has ED made any negitive comments about the General Discussion Thread?

I think no personal attacks would be nice. Enough of that silly stuff on other sites and it isn't suitaable on a discussion board of this caliber. Play nice.

tiggy2, I agreee 100% with what you posted. It's just I read a few post today and got the impression that all subject matter had to be dog related only. I don't have a problem with that at all, as it shoud be.

I think that this board is losing some of it flavour. There are some great people on this board, and I really learn and get alot out of it, and it still is the best board that I have viewed, but it is slipping.
My point is in no way to bash the board, and I know if I don't like it, don't be a member. This is far from the case. But there are a few members that have been here for a while that feel the same way. Ed is not on as often as he once was, so it is not only up to the moderators to keep it real, but us too. I know I will try in the future to do my part, which sometimes is not the always the case.
This is Ed's board, and I can tell you that he will chew you a new one if he feels he is right, but others have been allowed to make thier point before and disagree (within reason) befroe you got BAM.

Insults with anger, and personel attacks, don't belong here. The great thing I personally like about this board is the fact that I can(and do some times)say really dumb things, yet there are many, many really great minds here to correct me. I've been kicked in the butt a few times also, but I have never taken it as personel.(maby I'm just thickheaded) .

Yes I agree. We al get heated but it gets out of hand. There is another thread going that is just unreal. How is this allowed to go,but an dis-aggrement on a dog issue gets bammed! I guess if you don't disagree with certain folk it seems the topics go on forever. This other thread is.....it just blows me away........I do not think Uncle Ed would like. What a waste of his money.

I think age has a lot to do with it. When I was younger I never passed up a challenge and took everything personel. At 57, I'm quite content to sit back, give sage advice, and run like hell if I insult someone.

Ed is in Canada fishing, no phones or computers so that is why you don't hear the YELLING (yet).
If anyone has a problem with a thread for any reason please PM one of the moderators or administrators!!
We had informally decided that the general converstion thread could be just that BUT related to dogs in some way. When Ed gets back he may decide to can the whole category if it is causing so many problems and taking away from the board. I guess we will find out soon enough!!!

I'd think simply stating to keep it related to Dogs *should be* enough. Anyhow-I'm not complaining about being BAM'd more than once...I can handle it.

If Ed decides to keep the General Conversation I will be surprised BUT if he does maybe it should be changed to General DOG conversation. Maybe that will clarify that the subjects should remain canine related. We as the members make up the "class" of this board and if it's going down hill then we are at fault. We are the ones that have the power to "clean" it up. Let's step up to the plate... let's keep this board classy
