Hey all,
Maybe in the wrong forum here, but I wanted to try to get some responces. Just curious where everyone is staying for the Flinks seminar. I called the hotels listed, they are all $60+/night. No too bad, but after 5 days, its a little steep for a poor soul like myself. If any of you guys found something cheeper, could you please let me know? Thank you very much, and I'll see you guys there.

Jeff, try using http://www.travelocity.com
I found a few, such as:
BEST WESTERN SEMINOLE INN
Rate Range: USD 43.95 -- USD 57.50
6737 MAHAN DRIVE
Tallahassee, FL 32317
6.8 mi from 6400 PROCTOR RD, TALLAHASSEE, FL
Allows pets, but I couldn't find details.
ECONO LODGE NORTH
Rate Range: USD 41.79 -- USD 43.99
2681 N MONROE ST
Tallahassee, FL 32303
11.9 mi from 6400 PROCTOR RD, TALLAHASSEE, FL
Allows pets.
There are lots of others too, I just posted a few of the first ones that came up as examples. I was able to find a room for half as much as the recommended hotel when I went to a Dr. Dodds seminar last fall.

I forgot to add that I won't be going to the Flinks seminar, in case you were wondering. I couldn't skip that many classes, even if I had the money.

Did you call the Motel 6? I tried to book a room with them online and they said there weren't any available, then I called the motel direct and booked 6 nights for a little over $200. I don't know if that was an extended stay rate or what, but seems cheap enough to me.
Awww come on Lauren, what is missing a few classes? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Just a small word of caution. When my assistant called around to most/all of the hotel/motels int he area, a lot said "Pets allowed" but that was for small pets (usually under 25 lbs.), when asked about large dogs, most we a no go. If you don't want to spend the week playing hide and seek with your dogs, I would ask.

Anyone who goes that route needs to understand it is not exactly warm in Fl this time of year. I just came back from 10 days there and wore shorts ONCE. That was about 3 hours south of Tallahassee. I was banished to sleeping on the glassed in porch with the dogs(tile floors) and let me tell you it got pretty chilly at night. There was frost on several mornings. If you have an RV, great, but I wouldn't tent it!
One minor word or warning though. I figured the fire ants wouldn't be out this time of year and walked Gunther in an orange grove with sandals on. I still have scars all over my feet from the bites. Those itch like a mofo. We don't have those in Maine(thank DOG!)
