Cedar crate liners is what i like for puppies or any dog that you have use a platform for.Puppies will chew most things that you put in the crate also when mats are used ,it sometimes promotes the dog to be dirty in the crate. Peter
My Mal pup just "graduated" to a cushioned mat in his crate. He's 4 1/2 months old. Before this he just slept on the floor of the crate. He didn't get anything that he could tear apart. Since he didn't have a problem with wetting his crate, I didn't put in a pegboard or cedar liner.
believe it or not..the best liner i've found for my model#500 vari-kennel is a mud-flap from an eighteen-wheeler.i was adle to cut it to size with a sharp carpet knife, however it was nearly perfect to begin with.i pressure washed first and use it in my crate for my 78lb.male.the ceadar liners are great also.the mud-flap does add a bit more weight to the crates however.
My dad is a truck driver. When his mud-flaps turn up missing... I can just point him in your direction, Right Roger? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> Hehe, Sorry I just couldn't resist!
to aren...i wouldn't "mud-flap jack"your dad's rig but if i have access to one of the older heavy type of flap,i'll use them!what i like about them is that,if cut to the correct size it's way too hard for a dog to lift a corner and chew on...when i travel for training in the southeast(al.ga.fl.tn.)i like the idea that my male has something nice to lay on as he endures the trip on the back of my truck.plus if it's cold or raining i can turn my "vari-kennel#500"upside down so that the vented area is in below the "wind-buffet"area,and the dog is warm, dry and ready to work.
