I have a 10weeks old GSD female. A week ago one ear straigthen out but the other stayed lopped. This past Thursday the other one started to come up almost to a point but then it went down
Will like to know if theres is a time frame for the lopped ear to straighten out and when should I worry.
I have an 18 month GSD female. Both of her ears went up and down until she was about 4 months. At 10 weeks don't worry a bit, you have several months at least before you need to be concerned. The important thing is to NOT TOUCH OR PLAY WITH THE EARS, AND NOT ALLOW ANYONE ELSE TO. She is my first GSD and this is all new to me too.
Hi,
I too am new to this. I have a 12 week Belgian Malinois pup, at 6 weeks his ears were down, at 7 weeks to about 10 weeks they were standing tall and proud, at about 9-10 weeks I noticed that the left ear started to lean in a bit. At 12 weeks the leaning ear began to flop down. I have noticed that he is begining to teeth his adult teeth. I have read that this can occur durring teething and that x-tra calcium in his diet via tums should help, and not to worry. I can't help but worry, he's my baby. Is there a specific time frame, that I should expect to see improvement ? Please reply. Thanks Wendy
Your pup is normal. The ears stay up at between 4 and 5 months, with 6 still okay. If not up by 4 months, then make sure pup has no worms and put him on calcium pills and vitamins. If not up by 6 months than you have to think about taping them. Some pups just take longer.
