Bad news. Helmut Raiser was voted out as SV National Breed Warden, by a 51-45 vote. He held the job for only about 5 months. The info was posted on the website of Landesgruppe Niedersachsen LG 03. Someone named Scheerer was voted to replace him as National Breed Warden.
Perhaps showdog fanciers in the SV were just too afraid that Dr. Raiser really was going to crack down on the poor bitework of many show dogs at the Sieger Show and Breed Surveys. They have too much $$money$$ at stake to allow their pretty dogs to not go "pronounced" even when they fall off the sleeve. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

Der Abwahlantrag gegen den Bundeszuchtwart Helmut Raiser wurde mit 51 zu 45 Stimmen angenommen.
Herr Babilon (LG Westfalen) und Herr Scheerer (LG Rheinland-Pfalz) haben sich zur Wahl gestellt.
Nach Vorstellung der Kandidaten und anschließender Diskussion ergibt sich nun folgendes Ergebnis:
95 abgegebene Stimmen, 39 Stimmen für Herrn Scheerer, 21 Stimmen für Herrn Babilon, 11 Enthaltungen, 24 ungültige Stimmen!
Damit ist jetzt Herr Scheerer neuer Bundeszuchtwart.

I was having trouble with the "Der Abwahlantrag gegen", trying to figure out if it was a forced election or voluntary withdrawal; tried going from German to French to English and got closer. But your translation of "recall" made more sense!
I suppose it shouldn't surprise too many that his election didn't sit well. Raiser didn't "spin" many of his comments, and some must have sounded too "out-of-the-box" for breeders.... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
I wrote to a breeder friend of mine In germany and she says its true. She breeds "working dogs" and feels its BAD for The BREED. Wonders how the votes for Helmut can be Yes in november and No in may. The people who breed for money and show were afraid of the changes, and voted against on recount, (which was uncalled for in the first place) and didnt want the changes to effect thier wallet. I emailed Ed with the actual email I recieved. According to Sonja, Helmut will take them to court, and see who prevails. The Only way to do what they did was IF he'd done something against the law and brought this upon himself. She is proud Helmut ISNT a breeder and is for the GSD alone.
