Ron, I suspect many board members here are not much interested in AKC events...however, a note from the site you posted: http://gsdca-wda.org/workingdogsport.htm
"Note: This WDS event is open to all working dog enthusiasts from all Schutzhund organizations--provided they meet all entry requirements."
Their entry requirements are fairly stiff - there won't be a ton of dogs even eligible to enter, but they want it to be small on this first go-round anyway.
So if one has a bona-fide, Grade A, REAL world working dog but it is not a Schutzhund dog, then it doesn't qualify??? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> Did I read that right?
I would think that a Schutzhund dog (and any dog) would have to conform to the realities of a true working dog rather than a true working dog conforming to the sport rules of Schutzhund.
Well said Renee... I knew I missed you for a reason..
I think it was your mild mannerisms <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Does that mean GSD's only?
This is from the above website:
As a new program, there will be a period of evaluation - currently set at one year - where procedures and regulations will be "field tested". The AKC has designated two working breed clubs- The GSDCA and the Dobermin Pinscher Club of America to conduct this evaluation. Only these clubs will offer WDS titles at various AKC sanctioned events during the evaluation period. Following the evluation period, all AKC recognized working breed clubs will be authorized to offer WDS titles.
