when i sit my 8.5 week old GSD's food out she wants to run and ponuce around at it barking and snaping at the food swsifting grabing a couple pieces out of the bowl and eating them quitly foot or two away from the bowl. Its very funny lookingand to top it off when my 2.5yr old is eating she does not steal his food just sits 2-3 feet away barking and him or his food bowl but dont try to take his food just barks its kind of weird if u can tell me why i would be happy to learn. i dont mind the barking unless it wopuld cause a problem in the future.

Trey, sounds like you have a pup with "HYPER DISMORPHIC POUNCE-ITUS" This is caused by too much build up of high pressure gaseous stools in the lower rectal area. Hence "the jumping and pouncing." This puts an ENOURMOUS amount of pressure on the pups brain. You're pup thinks he's a cat. At this stage you have to be VERY careful and wear protection when feeding this pup or you could be injured. Don't worry, you're pup should grow out of this. If this continues, you're Vet may have to install a "MAXIMUS BYPASS VENTILATOR TUBE" to ease you're pups pain. But this has to be done during the pups 12th week of existence or it's a gonner. (SORRY) This should also stop the puppies barking. Sorry I couldn't resist!
Sorry Ed, and everyone, It's extremely hot and I got bored.
I would like to know the real reason why you're pup does this too. I'll be reading updates.
