i see alot of dogs with peko haus in their pedigree does any one no the web adress if they have one? and does anyone know of any schutzhund clubs in arizona?
I'm not sure if Co has retired or not. He was planning on moving back to Holland after he retired (is or was in Belgium) since he and his wife are Dutch and the health care is better in Holland. he then didn't think he'd have room for breeding and wouldn't do it any more.
His dog Ilko Peko Haus and Karlo Peko Haus, though vastly differing in bloodlines have measured prominently in working lines.
Ilko was one of the few dogs that went back to some very serious dogs that were the last of the working show dogs.
I worked an Ilko son on the road for a few years until he was struck by a truck and received a permanent injury....serious as a heart attack. Though not a large dog, even expereinced decoys eyes got big when he was doing the B&H, and always a full hard grip.
Home of SAR dog:
Erk Vom Powell-Haus CGC, 3 year old male GSD
Bayani vom Wildhaus, 10 month old female,co-owned with her breeder
At the bridge, Ax CGC, male dalmatian http://www.geocities.com/lugnut514532000/index.html
Kevin... sorry, can't let that slip by: in Holland health care is only "cheaper" for the individual, not "better". (It has a socialistic government with a National/socialistic health care system)
Originally posted by VanCamp Robert: Kevin, I'm assuming you have some experience with Ron progeny (who is a Karlo son). . .what do you think of that bloodline? yes, I have a Ron son in my club. he is a titled dog and is really a hard dog though not hard to handle. Tough cuss too who was injured and needed back surgery and still does great. His progeny through a female daughter of my dog look pretty darn nice too.
I liked Ron a lot. Wished I had more access to the genetics.
In about 1998 i think (could be wrong here) Karlo had about a dozen progeny in the Bundesseiger. Not bad at all for a dog that wasn't German.
I very much like Karlo vom Peko Haus. My father had a chance to spend some time around him and he said he was the best dog he ever saw. In fact searching for Karlo on the internet was what brought me to this website a while back.
I have a Pike daughter, she is a pistol.
I have also seen two Ron sons that came from Peko Haus breedings before he was imported. . .VERY nice dogs. Two brothers, one SchH dog one PSD, both tough, and both with all the drives anyone could ask for.
Am getting a Pike daughter next week - am anxious to meet her! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> Bred in Holland, but coming via Germany bred to a Mink/Troll V rated LGA male...any downside to the temperment from Pike? Litter will be linebred on Karlo's sire
