I’m looking for data and thoughts on any influential female/male dogs that have impacted the working bloodlines. I know about Mink Haus Whitfield, and some obvious dogs. But I was hoping to pool together some thoughts from everyone else on others. Any particulars you could give as to why that dog was influential would be helpful. Please include dogs of today. Also, if there are dogs that you see as not being good, but being breed a lot please mention them as well?
Chet,
In my opinion, the males that I feel have had a big impact on the working lines would be Yoschy, his Father Troll and his father Fero. Xato vbn and also Fado K. People can say what they want about these dogs or these lines, but the proof is in the pudding. In general, they bring trainability, focus to the handler as well as many other things including high prey. Other males would be Crok, his son Garry Erlenbusch, Quax Fasanerie. These dogs in my opinion bring the power, hardness and hard full grip. They also bring that almost gameness to the breeding program.
Females with a big impact would be Askia, Mona Dollenwiese, Deika Wannaer Hohen, Resi, Vivi Wolfendobel.
I totally agree with Mike. All the dogs he mentioned were excellent contributers to our working lines today. Another is Nick vom Heiligenbösch, new owner is Koos Hassing of Van Tiekerhook.
These are great working lines that produced some of the best. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />
I have to agree with Nick. I've seen a couple nick son's that are great. One I'll be doing a breeding with. Very clear headed, working k9, progeny shows the same traits as dad. VERY nice from what I've seen so far.
OK, how about great dogs that are under represented in pedigrees?

I still have that German Bias (i even have a CZ dog that is absolutly the best dog I've even had), but there is no CZ dogs without some of the old greats like the brothers leirburg, Bernd and Bodo.
enno Berglein has some pretty good representation in the CZ dogs also, another dog with roots i like.
