I'm new to the board and to protection sports other than Schutzhund. Was curious about PSA. I have read some articles on this site about one of PSA's Regional Directors. This concerns me. That he is a judge and director, when I have read some very disturbing letters about him. Any members of PSA have any comments on how the trials are run and the organization as a whole (these types tend to run in packs.) It surprises me that they would consider a person with this reputation to be a director in thier organization. Any comments appreciated. I'm considering joining PSA.
Would have to agree with Will. ASR is it. However I am a member of PSA and plan on competeing. Would like to know what article you are talking about so I can read them, please pm or email me with thier links.
And Mike,
I am in no way trying to discourage you from PSA - I just don't have any experience with it as I live in the deep South, and more of the PSA clubs seem to be up North.
Ya just can't trust those damn yankee's... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
Mike, the internet is full of 'stories'. In fact, I would go as far as to say, that if you looked hard enough, that you could find some dirt on nearly every dog person out there! Some true.. some not!
Take it with a pinch of salt!
PSA.. one word - AWESOME!
In my experience dealing with the PSA and it's directors, I have been met with nothing but extreme professionalism, and great respect. The organization itself is very well run, infact, better run and conducted in a more professional manner than any other sport I have been involved with.
They are also very welcoming to new comers, and don't have the whole politics bullshit thing going on!
The PSA tests the dogs to the extreme, the decoy work exceptional. Best thing you can do is go to one of the seminars, or trials and see for yourself!
Will, we are hosting a PSA trial down here in Texas in July, you are more than welcome to come! We will also be having a seminar sometime in April/May. Date not yet determined.
