I am going to attend a training academy in the usa at the end of the year! I have done a little research (as much as i could from the internet  )and have seen many dogtrainer academies! Most of them say the same things but i am between TomRose Academy and Triple crown academy! I am interested in the 16-20 weeksTRS and 12-weeksTCA program.
Any opinion or info on which one is better will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
you're asking people to walk on thin ice here. rather than actually making comments on either school, perhaps people would be willing to cast votes: between tom rose school and triple crown academy. i cast my vote for triple crown.

One thing I wanted to reinforce here - *NO* other school besides Triple Crown or Tom Rose should even be considered by anyone who aspires to be a serious dog trainer. There are plenty of other schools that will give you a piece of paper that states you're a "Master Trainer" but you damn sure won't have the skills to back that claim up.
It's a shame when even the president of a working dog organization runs a crap training academy. Let the buyer beware!
Thanks for the votes everyone!
Actually a "voting" is what i thought of posting first but i thought it would be inappropriate(sp?) to ask!
I too preffered Triple Crown Academy...but i thought TRA would be a bit better!

But Tom's school is just fine, and most, if not all of the founder's of Triple Crown were Tom Rose grads.
That is the reason i thought Tom Rose academy would be better but his site doesnt have alot of information! So i guess TCA will be the winner!
It should also be noted that having gone to a dog trainer school, not even the "right" dog trainer school, will not instantly make you a dog trainer. There are enough people out there that have graduated from a dog trainer school and aren't doing a good job that it IMO devalues the certificate. So if you go, do it for what you will learn and not for the slip of paper.
At one point I was thinking about doing training as a career, but after a few unpleasant encounters I have decided to just train for fun, maybe as a second career once I have already shown my abilities with my own dogs if I have what it takes. Not everyone can be a dog trainer, and I need a way to show that I'm not just another psycho that can't get a real job (horror stories abound, just ask most pet owners). Start thinking about how you will let your clients know that you are different, in ways that they can understand.
If you are just going for fun and personal knowledge, even better!

I believe it will be fun and i will gain personal knowledge just by attending the academy!
But i also want to start a carreer in dogtraining! Alot of dogtrainers here attend 2-3 seminars and call themselves trainers! I am serious about this and i want to do it the right way! Not that i will be an expert in dogtraining if i attend a school and get a paper but at least its a start! Practice and years of experience makes perfect! Well almost perfect that is!
