I've noticed that kennel always has puppies available. Does anyone have any good or bad things to say about that kennel or the trainer? Anyone with a dog from them?
Kraftwerk?
Strange German band with kinda odd music....
Oh, the kennel Kraftwerk... ( sorry, couldn't resist! )
Wayne Curry has made good showings at the GSDCA/ WDA Nationals and Schutzhund USA Nationals. The dogs that I saw him work all did well. And Wayne is showing longevity in the field of working dogs, which is always a good sign.
I found him to be a polite and pleasant guy, and he's developing a lot of references for dog sales - also a good sign.
My only problem with Kraftwerk is that the kennel is deeply involved with the GSDCA, and I always feel that folks that are involved with that organization are making a deal with the devil, to the detriment of the GSD breed.
How working dog people can deal with the GSDCA is literally beyond my understanding.
But that's just my opinion...sorry about the dog politics rant.
Will,
easy to explain the involvement in GSDCA.
First, if the SV decides to go with the AKC as its steward of the GSD in America the GSDCA is the group to hang with.
Second, if you are looking for another shot and really an easier shot at the top then you go with the GSDCA over the USA.
Simple really.
But, I have heard positive stuff about Wayne, he has used dogs that I very much appreciate in regards to their pedigree in his breedings.
I have a dog from one of his former trainers. He is just incredible. I will be bringing him to the Flinks seminar next month. There is a person with one of his dogs in my training group. He is guick, snaps his obedience, and tracks great. I do not know what he paid but knowing Wayne I'm sure he was not cheap. The dog is not Schutzhund titled other then BH and is training in personal protection and is doing great. The foundation that Wayne did seems to be doing great. The trainers that I use say they must really watch her because she so quick. A very nice dog. My other trainer that I use has had a few dealing with Wayne and has said that he has always gotten his moneies worth and that what ever Wayne said that the dog can do you can be sure that the dog can do it and more. He speaks very well of Wayne.
Wayne was the first person I called when I was looking for a dog, He answered all my questions and was very polite. I did not buy anything from him but I do not think that I not would have any cause to hestiate if he had a dog that I wanted. I look at his site often just to see what he has avaiable and have often thought that I wish I had the money and time for another dog. I already have 3.
Kevin, yep I understand the possiblity of the SV going with the AKC - although that'd make quite a stink between the SV and the FCI then, as the AKC won't agree to follow common, long established rules for breeds.
And as far as it being a second shot / easier shot to go for the GSDCA Nationals...that's kinda like getting bragging rights by winning the Girls Gray Y softball championship vs. winning the American League Series. Cripes, who wants to be the champ of a 2nd rate organization?
We've got a club member that got a dog from Wayne, and that dog will definately title.
Man....it's always hard to argue with Kevin, he keeps coming up with good replies!!
Of course, the old method of choosing the WUSV team, ie, via the SchH USA, did mean that we were sending our best to represent our country. The current way of choosing a team dilutes the talent, in my opinion.
