don't bet on it!!!
talk to some people who network in rescues....lots of their dogs end up there...
While I like black GSDs as much, if not more, than the next person, it should not be the basis of a breeding program. It is the 'iceing on the cake' for me - and I like my dark sables just as well, it is what is inside the head and heart that is most important...not the color!!

That particular kennel was on my short list early on when I went looking for a pup....primarily because I like black dogs.
However, after doing a lot more homework, I decided against any kennel that markets color: a breeder that selects on color first puts everything else of importance second, ie, temperament, health, intelligence, nerves, structure, etc. And those were qualities I wanted in a dog, more so than color.
(I personally prefer bicolors and blacks, but purchased a sable because the other, more important quality requirements were present!)

Nice photo of a good-looking dog. However, under the board's rules, it is verboten to post photos. The only exception is in the 'In Memory Of' section.
You may however, post the link to the photo as a URL.

Charlie,
I will assume your comment was not directed at my post, though it follows it, since I did not attempt to post a photo...
(I didn't know this board could even except photos... )

Ann, someone had posted a photo and the post was removed. Charlie wasn't responding to you, he was responding to them, and then their post was removed.

I was the one who posted the photo, I had thought that wasn't enabled in the past. But today I saw it was an option and easily done so put in a photo of my sable dog.
Too bad, lots of good photos out there that would help with our postings.
Is the rule because it just may take older computers too long to show the pictures?

Is the rule because it just may take older computers too long to show the pictures? Not older computers, but people with dial up access to internet. And it can be tempting to show your dog all day long , that way board turns into; whell not too informative photo gallery.
It is good this way, it is easy to make gallery some other place and post link to gallery.
But that was nice dog
