I am in full agreement with the board, however, that the only way to defend ourselves and our families (human and canine) is by being prepared with weapons. The problem for me of course, is that in Canada, it's illegal to carry pepper spray, knives, guns, etc. There is an article below from a university in British Columbia that discusses the ridiculousness of these laws Simon Fraser Article
My question is: Are there any Canadians out there who have had to defend themselves against aggressive dogs with the use of weapons and what was the outcome?
Will posted information about using a staff for self defense. I carry a heavy, blackthorn walking stick, or a longer ash walking staff. They give you alot of reach, and the root knob on the blackthorn carries a heck of a whallop.
So far, nobody can tell this old dude to leave his "crutch" at home <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
I use a golf club. I'm not a golfer, so I can't tell you what size. But recently I was forced to use it, and I can tell you there are not many dogs who won't run for cover after getting a good whack on the head with the steal end of the club.
