OK everyone, heres a topic you can all respond to. As some know I purchased Kane from a breeder I am not happy with. I was told he was from West Working lines. Anyway, while training with my trainer a lady asked about him. I told her a short version of my story about getting Kane and what I was told his background was. She told me that she sees American and west German lines. OK So I am hoping to get more oppinions. What does he look like to all of you? The dreaded American line that I feared when I was looking into GSDs surprised me when she told me he looked like he had American lines. I really dont know myself being unexperienced. Either way I love Kane and am happy with him, but just curious as to what all of you guys think.

I dont have any good side shots or some that are more current on the computer yet. I hope you have an oppinion on what I do have.
Thanks everyone for your comments! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

He looks like a German Shepherd. Any more than that and people are giving you an OPINION, which really shouldn't matter in the grand scheme of things.
Heck, I took the pup I have left from my summer litter into a local pet store and they wanted to know what he was "mixed with"... since they had never seen a sable that color, much less a LH sable that color.
Then another all time favorite- I was standing outside the PD with my bitch and someone walking down the street says "that dog is part wolf"... "No, she isn't," I respond. "You aren't fooling me- HE is part wolf" "uh- ok buddy- have a nice day."
My point is that you will encounter people who think they know it all everywhere. What does it matter? What if he did have some American lines in him? So what? You going to ditch the dog for it?
He has a nice head on him and doesn't look to be extreme in anything from what little the photos tell. Raise your puppy and be happy with him. Don't sweat the small stuff.

I had a yuppy neighbor call the police on me because they were sure that my dog was a dangerous wolf hybrid. . .
The cops got there and recognized a working line dog because they have a few sable K9s.

Anyone that says they can see the bloodlines in your dog is full of it.
I can't tell for crap, and I'm pretty well studied on the topic. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Well Im glad to hear that. I mean no it doesnt matter to me what he is. I love him and hes the world to me. Just curious as to what the differences would be by looking at him. I mean I myself couldnt tell. It is funny because there are several people that train with me on Friday nights, and they all think they know everything, well most of them.
Just wondering what other peoples oppinions were, not that it mattered. At least you shared some funny stories. It is funny how some people are. I had one girl... a friend of my cousins tell me he didnt look like a full GSD. I assume she was expecting a full grown, showline looking dog. You know the traditional sadle looking kind. I explained to her he is in fact a GSD and yes someday he will grow into his long legs and bat ears! LOL

I've been told my sable dog isn't a GSD. He's a POlice dog. Also "How come your Akita's tail doesn't have a curl in it?" I've also been told that he's to pretty to be a Czech dog.
HEY! My dog ain't pretty, he's manly and handsome! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

As some know I purchased Kane from a breeder I am not happy with. I was told he was from West Working lines.
HI Chastity Tyler, I had to respond to this post. All should ever matter is that you are happy with this young pups ability & if the pup is advancing in training. You’re also right, it is funny how some people are that seems to believe they can see what a dog pedigree from what ever magic they have (LOL).
But to give you a little advice on purchasing a good pup from a breeder listen to this with out anger. If you shall fail with this pup, only fault your self. Why? You are a member of this board for at lease 6 months. If you want a proven dog or pup from a proven line you should have purchased from one of these decent people on this board. Then your chances would have been greater with out mystery. Plus every one this board seems to be honest people. LOOK AROUND; “LOOK AT THE PEOLPE YOU ARE CHATING WITH”. Leerburg, Deanna, Van Camp, Kevin many more. My future advice to you is save your money, buy quality pup from this group of people. When my dog dies, hate to think this but I do every time I see him work. When ever my dog dies, I can not; I will not COMPROMISE quality of working ability. I will contact this same officer or save for month to year or what ever comes first. Besides I have read the Leerburg pups come with a guarantee. I think about this often Chastity. I listen too the AKC breeders lies & peddlers lines locally. They have no clue to what working really is. They are confused with training ability or German show line Abbreviations on American line papers. That means nothing close to working dog. Nor do their dogs have working desire when I see their dogs training. I went through at lease 12 dogs from breeders local with lies about they breed working dogs with 1 titled dog on a 6 generation pedigree that's when I was Naive & knew nothing close to the truth about working dogs. But, I traveled & got my Mal from a LEO on this board some time back, He educated this young doggy trainer & set me free. The best dog I ever had.
So my friend you are at heart & I wish you luck with your pup. Ulysee
