Just wondering who was going to compete or watch.
I am thinking of going down for the 3 days. If anyone is going drop me a note we can meet up and hang out and watch the event. And cheer on Carmen, at least I think se is going.
Oh Hell yeah Joe, I'll be going and showing..you know me a glutton for punshiment...This is going to be Dante's last show..he will be retired after this..but his legacy will (hopefully) live on as I have kept a male, Capone, out of him and Stretch. So far he is showing a lot of qualities like his father..including the sucking on the toys.. How's that for genetics LOL
I am thinking of going, depending on finances, time off, etc.
Do you have to be a member of Schutzhund USA, or can anyone spectate? I would like to see the end result of all that training, with good dogs...
How big are the crowds, generally?

Anyone can watch.
The crowd size varies depending on location and event ( Protection tends to have the most viewers ) but usually there are anywhere from 100 to around 400 ( max ) spectators in the stands.
There are usually plenty of sales booths for the equipment vendors just outside the stadium, which are fun to shop at.
If you get the chance, go - it's a great learning experience, and a fun social experience.

And who is showing..next year will probably be a very small crowd of spectators since Doodle will be retired Of course this year we both will be available to autograph the recent copy of Schutzhund USA
Yup, Nationals are indeed in Nashville. Should be interesting too as the word is that both Gary Hanrahan & Deb Zappia are retiring their dogs this year, depending on how they do in the WUSV competition which is being held as we speak in the Netherlands. If they trial, it will probably be the last chance to see Bastin & Esco do what they do so well. I know some people would be just as happy if they don't show as they would like a crack at being on the podium.
I won't be able to make down until Sunday. Will much be going on the final day? I've never been and I'm very interested. Have a 14 week old GSD I'm trying to do things right with and I thought this might be a good place to get a little more educated.
Final day is generally a day of finishing up dogs that still need to do their obedience & protection routines which are typically held in the stadium. Dogs that have already done these routines will track. Generally they try to finish up early so they can get on with the awards ceremony as people by the last day are ready to pack it up and head home. If you get to the stadium early you will get to see a handful of dogs work and get a pretty good picture of what is going on.
