May I also add, to those of you that are currently serving and in harm's way, a sincere "thank you" for your sacrifice in making our Nation and the entire world safer.
one of my sons is in iraq right now. i worry 'round the clock about him, yet i know he is a good man and a good soldier and i pray he will come home safely. GO ARMY!!!
if there are no dogs in heaven, then when i die i want to go where they went. ---will rogers
My thanks too - to all the troops over there defending freedom now and to those who have served in the past...all my family is back home safe but I still keep the ones over there in my thoughts and prayers...
Patricia - make sure your son knows how much we appreciate his service to our country and that we wish him a safe and quick return home!!
a special "thank you " to all the boys who are now over in iraq. i lost a lot of good friends,in the other "unpopular" fracas. to all the guys who came home from the nam. thanks and i love ya' guys.
Thanks alot for the comment. As a person who saw heavy combat in Afghanistan and Iraq, I can't tell you what a simple comment like that means to those who have seen war first hand. I would like to ask that all do this one thing google "local soldier killed", or something to that effect, you should get some personal stories of a few soldiers that was killed. Just read about one, and learn the story of just one soldier killed, and remember him as the real hero of veterans day. The buddies that I had die in front of me, and the ones that got "The early release home" as we called it. I went and paid a sacrifice because you loose a part of you that you will never get back, but there is no sacrifice like the ultimate sacrifice, Please don't forget our fallen brothers.
A day late but I'd like to thank my late father. He served for 21 years and saw combat in Korea and Vietnam. Makes my paltry 3 years in the mid 70's seem like day camp.
I'd also like to honor all those who sacrificed so much.
And finally to my stepson who has already gone to Afghanistan right after 9/11 and who volunteered to go to Iraq in a few weeks. He felt it was his duty to go since he was single and so many with family were being sent.
