Actually, it is against ebay policy to sell animals on ebay. It's probably against the rules to offer stud service as well. I have reported this auction to them. You all should do the same.

It isn't the first stud auction I have seen, so I don't know that they consider it the sale of an animal.
It never stops shocking me though, no matter how many I see I will still never be able to wrap my head around the concept that someone would think it was an OK thing to do.
Bob, in your case you just need to add those buzzwords like: antique, vintage, collectable..
Q: Hi, I have a few questions about your stud service offered for auction. 1)Has Leo been checked for any hereditary problems? 2)Has Leo had his hips x-rayed and certified? 3)Does the quality of the female matter or just highest bid wins? 4)If I win the auction may I use him on my Standard Poodle? She's really pretty. Thanks ! Answered on Nov-11-04
A: Leo is the result of extremely careful breeding. The breeder I got him from Guaranties all her puppies100% for hip problems. She has worked very hard and has been very successful at breeding only healthy (without the hip problems American line German Shepherds usually have) top quality show dogs. Leo is a very healthy five year old German Shepherd. He has never gotten sick in his life and this would be the first time I'd try to breed him. Leo has not have had his hips x-rayed and certified because I never intended to show him on "best on show." Leo although looks and moves like a show dog he is a little too big for the judges of German Shepherds show line, so he does Schutzhund instead. I'd like to breed him to another German Shepherd, but I would consider a Poodle to breed Germanshephoodles (did I just invent a word?).
So apparently, doesn't care what he's bred to, or about doing hips either. Gees.
