I've used with the whippets, and with the shiloh x gsd. It is not terribly sturdy, and although it comes with shipping labels, I'd never ship a dog in it. I only put quiet, already crate-respectful dogs in it.
I would say it's a bit more secure than those fabric crates <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> . I would never, never, never put Tig in one. It wouldn't hold her for 2 minutes.
The nicest thing about it is you can set it up and drop it in the space it's sitting in (not like wire crates that need to flip to the side, so you need extra room or be agile with your fingers).
Worst, it's fragile. And it's not that easy with the large size to get the body of it up and aligned and then get the ends swung up and engaged.
Also bad, while a wire crate generally has an attached hook or something to hold it closed when folded, this crate uses an unattached velcro belt. The belt is always just out of reach when you want it.
Even though Nylabone has printed on the package that you can fly a dog in that crate- I am yet to find one that will actually do it. All require you have a solid, not folding, kennel. So, if that is why you considered it- scratch it from your list.
For airline travel, you need the more solid plastic ones. For the house I also MUCH prefer the black coated (believe it or not, they fit better into the overall home decor and are a bit less noticeable as a major piece of furniture in the home than the uncoated metal) suitcase/one piece folding metal crates. The kennelaire crate looks like a really well made sturdy crate. But if your pup isn't that tough on crates you can probably get a bit better price on another brand. These look like what I have: http://www.cagesdirect.com/dog-supplies-crates-and-cages-midwest-better-buy-suitcase-crates.html
