I am so tired of not being able to find others with which to train that I'm wondering if I should start my own club. Does anybody have some advice and/or links to some good articles on how to do it? Thanks.
Well Will (that sounded funny) if I had my druthers I'd make the 5 hour drive and spend the weekend with you and Ken while you put my dog through the gauntlet in order to determine where he needs work.
In lieu of that I'd just like some people who have a PPD, Schutzhund, etc. to come out and be willing to help me in scenario training with my dog. I'd like to introduce him to different settings, situations with various distractions (waving branches, buckets, hula-hoop, whatever), getting him off the ground and so forth. They just need to be a good actor (as we discussed in another thread) and willing to take a bite. My dog outs great, I can only hope theirs does too! LOL!
Hey Patrick, I am over here at UCF and would be willing to help you out however I could. I have a lot of dog experiance but not a whole lot of schutzhund experiance but I'll do whatever I can. I plan to get a dog over the summer and want to do schutzhund with him so I'm actively looking for ways to gain experiance. Also, there are 2 local clubs around Orlando. There's one linked off USA's website run my MaryAnn Morse. I went to one of their meetings and it's pretty low key but a couple good dogs out there (mostly mals). There's also supposed to be the Schutzhund Club of Orlando around (I have the address I'll give you if interested).
