Bernhard called me yesterday and asked if I could organize a 5 day seminar in March in Albequerque NM. (starting March 19 th) He has a seminar planned on that date with the Boston Police, for budget reasons the department cancelled the seminar yesterday.
The 5 day seminar I just sponsored in Florida was temendous. You can read comments from many of those who attended at: http://leerburg.com/flinks4.htm
If we can get enough people interested in coming to Kevin Sheldahls club we will make this happen. The seminar would be organized very similar to the Florida seminar: the first two days with young dogs, then a full day of tracking, then two days of advanced work for dogs preparing for a trial.
The 5 day March 19th Flinks seminar in Albequerque will be a little different. I am going to put Bernhards lecture and theory on a DVD - those who register will be mailed this DVD ahead of time and will be expected to have watched the DVD a few times before the seminar. In this way we can eliminate the hours of lecutre and focus on strictly dog work.
This lecture DVD will not be offered for sale to anyone. The only way to get it will be to registered and attend a seminar.
The first two days will be young dog work, then a full day of tracking and then two days on training exercises.
Send me an email if you are interested in attending the seminar.
$ and .01 what are we talking about? I understand and agree this is an opportunity that should not be missed but budget concerns are private and State government issues here in Az.
The tree of Freedom needs to be nurtured with the blood of Patriots and tyrants. Thomas Paine
Just my .02 -> If you haven't taken the opportunity to attend one of Bernhard's seminars, you are really missing out. Regardless of the skills that you think you have, something can always be learned. Particularly from bernhard. He is one hell of a teacher.
The 5 day NM Flinks seminar starting March 19th will be $300.00 - or $75.00 per day for individual days (if you don't do the whole 5 days). Pre-registration is a MUST - those who come for 2 or more days will get a DVD of Bernhard's lecture ahead of time. They will be expected to have watched this. That DVD will not be sold to anyone who does not come to the seminar. I will be doing a web page on the site next week with hotels, directimes, times etc.
Those that wish to attend will need to contact my secretary (Stephanie 715-235-6502 or email her at book@leerburg.com) You can reserve and pay for the seminar with your credit card.
Do you feel a 9 month old GSD could also attend the first two days and get something out of the seminar? Will the first two days be strictly obedience or will it combine Protection with young dogs?
I not only feel, but know for certain as I have attended two of bernhard's seminars, that you and your nine month old will get more info than you can absorb in two days, hence the switch to five days. go for five, you won't regret burning a little vacation time.
My pup was nine months old at the FLA seminar last month and the training was well worth it. Bernard accelerated my training program by months with the handling tips and tricks that he showed me, and I left that seminar well satisfied.
Go to the seminar! You won't regret it! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
