The newest issue of SchH USA magazine ( Vol. 30, No. 2, March/ April 2005 ) has the list of the dog/ handler teams that got their SchH III through the SchH USA organization in 2004. If you'll look through that list you'll see:
A whole lot of GSD's - not surprising, as SchH USA *is* a GSD breed organiztion.
2 Mals ( two? huh? )
1 Rott
1 Dobe
2 American Bulldogs ( that's actually a lot for that breed in a single year, my hats off to those handlers )
1 Hovawart ( wow...there's a breed you don't see titled in the U.S. very often! )
Several forum members earned their SchH II and should be congratulated:
Louise Jollyman
Lee Hough
And another Leerbug dog racks up a SchH III:
Sheri Tratnack with Iko vom Leerburg
Those are just the people who sent in their information. When I received my magazine and saw the list I then remembered that I did not send in my information to the office. That's probably why there were so few Mals and some of the other breeds.
Yes, any dog/handler team can trial and get their titles at local / regional USA trials. It's only the GSD Nationals that are restricted just to GSD's.
The only Dobermann on the list is my bitch Dubheasa. You have to do the BH, SchH I-III at USA trials. Dubheasa is also a member of the DVG and UDC Schutzhund III clubs.
