I have a question. I have read the commands on Leerburg, but was wondering if those of you with PPD's use the same commands for your dogs. Do you have a command for "alert?" I went to one site and it said Revier was used, but on Leerburgs site it shows a different meaning.
Just wondering what some of you guys out there use?
Having origionally learned to train in German I still do. I have done it so long that I have a hard time helping people in English.
So:
Sitz=Sit
Plotz=down
Fuss=heal
Wanderen=wander (walk with me but not at heel)
Loos=leave it
Comienze (? sp)=Come (front sit)
byfuss(? sp)=Recall to heel or finish (front sit to heel)
Nien=no
Verboten=Never allowed (love that word)
The only exception is
Watch= Watch command. I want to the person to know what the dog is doing and it is under my control.
If you can't be a Good Example,then You'll just have to Serve as a Horrible Warning. Catherine Aird.
I use German commands since I've done SchH for so long. And like Richard, I have problems *not* giving commands in German, which confuses my obedience students sometimes. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" />
I am trying to figure out what German command is used during the stay in motion. I did use the search feature ;-)
I am not sure if I should use:
Blieb = Stay
Steh = Stand
Steht Noch = Stand still.
I have the 2002 Schutlzhund trials and I have tried to listen to see what commands are used but I just can’t determine what they are saying.
Also, when would I use the blieb command? If you platz or sitz a dog I am assuming you wouldn’t follow that command with blieb. I am just wondering when it would be appropriate to use blieb.
Thanks in advance for your help.
