For those of us, interested in working dogs and Sch we should give our honest opinion on show dogs ability. So, if you would check these two videos and give them your evaluation. Please post your thoughts on their site and suggest video clips for them to see. http://www.zippyvideos.com/148207443138995.html http://www.zippyvideos.com/148207443138995.html
Same address but 2 different videos.
Don't know a thing about the dogs training, but that grip would be considered a problem at our club. Poor genetics, poor training, both, who knows! JMHO
In the second video, the dog keeps looking over it's shoulder. Insecurity because of genetics or bad training. It's impossible to tell just from a quick video clip.
Well everybody can see the problems with the grips and the outs. The dog has no intensity. Youll notice in the first video how early the ears pop up on the way to the helper, to me this shows how uncomfortable the dog is with what its about to do. The dog doesnt really want to take the fight to the helper but is willing to engage. No its not a strong dog but a willing dog. I believe that who ever is training the dog is a cookie cut trainer doing the same things over and over and not making any progress. I believe if this dogs actual problems were addressed in training you could make this dog look alot better,,,LOOK alot better. It aint no man stopper and never will be but it could be trained to look better on a schutzhund field.
Stop making excuses for your dog and start training it!
How many times does he have to be asked to "out" before he does it? 2-3!!! This was a competition right? Why would they even compete? Not even to mention the half-grip, chewy bites. I give the handler credit for not shooting herself or the dog right there on field though.

i posted some comments on there as well, but as far as the entry goes, he checked up big time. i have seen dogs that lift their ears as they enter the courage test, but they stay up longer than that, i dont think that that necessarily means much, but the dogs speed and strike which was horrible at the engagement tells alot about the dog. i think the out problems could be fixed easily, but the grip problems might be harder, the dog could have had some very bad foundation work in grip, it could just be anxiety while on the sleeve/protection field, who knows, but on the site the guy is talking about putting the video up so that people will want to breed to his dog, good luck? i guess?
haha
