Looking to ask a few questions about fresh raw tripe. Has anyone had any experience in receiving, and cutting up fresh raw tripe? I have a few questions I would like to ask via personal e-mails. Please e-mail me personally at rae2@kc.rr.com
What do you mean by fresh? I live in the New York area, and fresh raw tripe is readily available in many supermarkets. I simply wash it and cut it up. My dog loves it. The way my family and I typically eat it is slow cooked in tomato sauce.
The tripe that is at the supermaret is not the same raw tripe "greentripe" used for food food. The supermaret brand has been bleached and i beleive all or most of the nutritional value in the raw tripe is no longer in the food. Greentripe.com has a couple of good articles on greentripe.
