HI.
My puppy is very much socialized and I would like to back off of the socialization..problem is when she sees anyone she gets really hyper and wants to go visit...whenever she sees someone she forgets I even exist..answers to no commands and pulls hard to get to the person.
This happens everytime we walk out the door.
HELP!! I don't want to ruin her temperment...I don't think I want to protection train her but either way I can't have her socializing with everything that walks!
Try teaching her the command "leave-it" and apply it to things she isn't supposed to have, as well as anything she gets overly excited about seeing, smelling, eating, etc.- including people. Gradually increase distractions so she will listen to commands when you need her to. For now, telling her commands is useless when she is excited around people and will only teach her to ignore you. She's too excited to learn and behave at that time. Sometimes ignoring her annoying behaviors and just walking on by the person is best. You'll have to teach her to behave around distractions and socialize her to being around people more often before she will listen to the commands.
Liking people is good and she sounds very friendly but it doesn't mean she gets to be pet by every human she sees. Actually, the more you socialize her the better she will get because she will learn to ignore all the people since she sees them all the time. It won't be as exciting for her after awhile. She is only 3 mo. old so she still has a lot ahead of her. Don't confuse socialization as "meeting everyone and letting them pet her". Sometimes socialization is just exposure to things so they don't stimulate a reaction from her.

I have the video 8w to 8m. I am getting Basic Obedience.
Don't misunderstand..I don't try to train her outside around distractions or expect her to listen to commands under these circumstances at this point...I can't even walk her (when she sees a person). she tries to pull me and actually gets to the point where she is on her back legs front paws in the air to get to that person. This person can be 150ft away and most of the time is..I can walk in the other direction and she's trying to drag me over there. When I got her at 8weeks she was people shy. Now she loves everybody. should I get a prong collar or just use treats to try and keep her focused on me and more under control at this point? It won't be long before she is dragging me around.
I would just pull her along with you until she is more socialized to being around people. Now that she has learned to love them, she has to learn to ignore them until you say she can play. It easy to get frustrated and want to correct her but she won't really make the connection between the correction and the behavior you want to fix. For the situation where she is trying to pull you back to the people when you are walking away from them, I would verbally correct her with a slight leash correction when she tries to turn around to keep her moving in your direction (praise her each time she stops looking at them and follows with you). But for the full on obsession she gets into when your walking towards someone, she would probably be confused by a correction. She is too distracted.
You could try the treats to keep her attention on you but that may not motivate her over the fun people she's watching. I would continue the walks and verbally praise or treat her for any attention she directs away from the people. If she is staring and jumping toward a person and then refocuses her attention on something else- praise/treat! If someone is near and she looks but decides to ignore and keep moving- praise/treat! This will help her learn that she is good when she ignores them and even train her to keep some attention on you awaiting those treats. She will still be just as friendly with people when you let her play with them though too. This could just be a super-friendly puppy phase that might pass too.
