I posted a few days ago about my sister's pit bull. Well last week we got into a huge arguement because I won't go over her house anymore or allow any of my children over there. She thinks I'm blowing the situation out of proportion. I can't get the thought out of my mind of the poor boy who is 9 yrs old getting his chest torn up and getting 28 stitches.
I can't believe there is a possibility that nothing will be done with that dog because she has followed all the vicious dog laws <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />
I can't believe that my sister is picking a dog over her family. Am I over reacting?
I don't think you're overreacting. Our neighbor's samoyan (sp?) mauled me in the face when I was four, after they had supposedly followed all the dog laws and been okayed by the local law enforcement. The animal had bitten the vet three times and attacked, but not drawn blood, on other people.
Keep your kids away until the dog is gone.
I'm not a parent yet, but if I was, I wouldn't let my kids within 200ft of that dog. Maybe nothing will happen, maybe they can be with the dog for 300 days without a problem, but on day 301, do u really want to take that chance?
You are right on this one Deana.
This is a no brainer. This dog has injured SEVERAL people who then required stiches! This is not a joke! She is being completely irresponsible not just as a dog owner, but as a HUMAN! She must be in denial. Maybe you should print everything that's been said here about the situation and let her read what we all think. So it's not just YOU making a big fuss over this.
With your sister as the owner of this dog, and with her attitude, it is VERY possilbe this dog will end up killing someone, probably a child.
That very same dog in qualified hands may have never bitten anyone.
I don't know what kind of relationship you have with your sister but, it's only going to get worse if you or one of your kids ends up injured.
Hi Deanna. I don't think you're horrible. I think you are a responsible person, reasonably concerned about this dog's behavior. Please read the new post on another death caused by pit bulls. Also consider that the victim was not a toddler or small child, but a twelve year old boy! Hang onto your convictions you could save a life.
