I told you about my sister's dog and how a week ago he bit his forth child that required 28 stitches.
Well my oldest sister called me a few minutes ago and asked me if I heard about my neice? NOOOOO I didn't
My neice was over her Nana's house sunday and was asked why she had a bandage on her back, I guess the darn dog bit her and my sister didn't take her to the hospital, she cleaned the wound up herself and that was it.
I'm not sure what the wound looks like but when someone (family member) called my goofy sister about it, she got defensive, said how she knows if her children are in danger (doubt that)and hung up on them
What in the world do I do? I have the number to the health dept man and will call him tomorrow.
A report ot your local Child Protective Services would fix this probelm, but I'm thinking it'd be a real wedge between you and her in the future. But at least you'd know that you've done your best for the children, which is what counts the most.
You need to decide if your relationship with your sister is worth the life of a child. That may sound drastic, and it's not ment to put a guilt trip on you, but it sounds like it's just waiting to happen.
Maybe I missed it in previous posts, but what kind of dog is this? How old is it? Does it live in the house, is it part of the family - is your sister so attached to the dog that she can't see giving it up? Or is it an issue of, she doesn't want to do what her family members are telling her she must do? I don't have children and don't want any - but even I realize that a child MUST ALWAYS come before the dog, even if the dog is considered a family member. Maybe she is afraid the dog will be euthanized (maybe it should be) - but there are other options - finding a good home where there are never children around - pulling all of it's teeth out? (just joking)
I can't believe this is even an issue. Call CPS NOW!!! What's it gonna take for your sister to wake up? Wait, I think we all know the answer to that.
Another option is to just shoot the damned thing and be done with it.
Give me all the information and I will make the call for you, it keeps you out of trouble with your sister and gets that dog away from children. Do any of the kids teachers know that a parent is putting the children in a dangerous situation, because if a teacher feelsw that a child is in danger they must report it as suspected child abuse. Get that dog out of that house
