Does anyone have any recommendations on a good training resource for an E collar? I have use an E collar but would like some reassurance I am using it properly and getting the most from it. Unfortunately it doesn't look like Leerburg has an E collar video.
I am currently editing a DVD "Dealing with Dominant and Aggressive Dogs" (there will also be a book release this summer) When thats done I will be editing a DVD on e-collars for beginners. You can keep an eye on the table of contents for releases. http://leerburg.com/table.htm
I live near Memphis TN but I do not want someone to train my dog for me. I would consider going to a seminar or class designed for me to learn how to better train my dog. This is because I enjoy training my dog myself. I think we are doing well at this point but I would like to improve.
Great! I can appreciate you not wanting your dog trained by someone else because of your own learning purposes. I could've avoided reinventing many wheels if I would've had a professional guide me through the process when I first learned how to use a remote collar. Maybe someone who can guide you through the process one on one would be ideal for you. Using an electric collar and making too many mistakes can be unforgiving. While making mistakes is inevitable, minimizing them is ideal.
I hope you find someone or someone finds you. I will always have a remote collar for my own dog. The benefits are immeasurable.
