I'm confused, I noticed some members here have commented how stable their dogs are in temperament, yet some off these same dogs, according to their owners will bite or exhibit aggresion to strangers if they attempt close contact. These are good proven working dogs, yet anyone stating that their dog will exhibit same behavior is quickly dismissed as weak temperament dogs (mostly not pure working lines).
Please don't confuse this post as: witch lines are better, working, west german, czech etc.
Just confused <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />
Could you please give us a direct example of whose dog you are talking about? You won't hurt anybody's feelings by doing so, but making us guess which particular dog you're talking about doesn't make for an accurate answer.
Well, some of the comments were made on a thread a while back about strangers petting people's dog's.
Some stated that certain dogs just didn't like being petted, I think there was an issue with a dog that didn't like being petted beyond his head, some just plainly didn't like to be pet period.
Although some of these comments were made in that thread, every once in a while a thread does pop up about somebody's dog being aggressive to strangers for no reason, and most aggree that it's a case of weak nerves.
Forgive me, but I'm just to lazy to go back and search previous threads and start quoting people, not trying to be a wise guy.
Thanks.
I remember posts like that in the threads about not letting people pet your dog, I think one of the posts was "another reason not to let strangers pet your dogs" - I kinda wondered about that myself but never gave it a 2nd thought.
