I feed my 14 week old pups one full meal a day, which consists of semi-boiled chicken ( without the thigh bones ) mixed evenly with dry kibble!
Each pup consumes a whole chicken. I started this routine at 12 weeks from twice a day before that, and 3 times a day before that!
They really do enjoy it, and they get light treats through out the day when I train them seperately.
Is that OK? Or should I feed them more often?
Thanks in advance.

I think a lot of vets say twice a day until about 9 months. Puppies' stomachs can't hold enough to store a whole day's worth of food. Even after 9 months, the larger breeds often need their feedings to be divided into two.
I've just always stayed with twice a day, but I'd be interested in hearing what other trainers/owners think.

What kind of dogs?
Deep chested dogs should get at least 2 meals a day to help with preventing bloat.

I am not aware of this terminology "deep chested"

GSD's are deep chested. Should feel two smaller meals a day to help prevent bloat.
Sorry, not real sure how to explain deep chested, depth of the ribcage???

Yeah, that works! It means relatively thick in the chest, like a GSD (or, at the other end of the scale, a Pug). I think it also means the chest is deeper than it is wide.
So far, I've seen lots of reasons to feed 2X per day (esp bloat in GSDs and similarly-shaped dogs) but none for feeding 1X .......... anyone else?

You really shouldn't cook the chicken, as cooking makes the bones much more likely to splinter. It's also not a good idea to mix kibble and real meat/bones in same meal, I think that too increases the chance of bloat as the kibble can swell.

Think you can save alot of time and effort just tossing the entire RAW chicken to your dogs. No cooking and no thigh bone removal.
Have you read up on feeding RAW or BARF? Takes the kibble out entirely. And I agree with feeding at least 2 smaller meals rather than one large meal per day.

I really dont know what to do anymore! One pup gets the squirts, i treat that, then the other one immediately does! they take turns gettin diarrhea!!!
I cant isolate what the probelem is. I've tried everything, is it the kibble? Is it the chicken? Is it the yogurt!
i wanna be able to put them on ONE constant diet without having all this happen!!!
What to do?
