I just got my first GSD about a month and a half ago...problem is I have NO idea how a 4 month old GSD femal should look! Everyone I meet looks at me like Im crazy when I say she's a german shepherd...everyone seems to think she's a black lab mix. It is sooo annoying. So im asking you experienced GSD people , Does my bitch look like a german shepherd. Please be honest you wont hurt my feelings.
She is out of a Czech female and a DDR male. I saw the mom..but the dad was not at the breeders. Mom looked great, big sable bitch..very nice!

She looks exactly like a GSD at that age. One question though; why do you have the pics posted at a pitbull site?

Before I had Eva(or even thought about owning a shepherd) I had an APBT, She was the sweetest friendliest dog I ever met. She loved kids, cats, dogs...anything you name it!
Well almost a year ago she was taken away..becouse someone said she was vicsous(which she was not..that dog never even barked at anyone) I rehomed her with a friend..and she can never come back becouse she is a pitbull. Those people really helped me out alot...I still support APBT's and they support me and Eva.

I think that the ignorant people have a problem with the color. Most people associate a GSD with being black and tan.

But they all are not.

All black is an acceptable color for a GSD.

She looks like a GSD pup to me. I had a woman at petsmart tell me all about wolf-hybrids one day. I left thinking "what a dinger" then I realized she was talking about my sable shepherd puppy. Ignore most people. I have vets that tell my clients that they shouldn't train a puppy till it is 6mo to a year. Wacko <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

No they were regular shepherds, Black and Tan...normal shepherds.

Why are people so dumb <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> I tried to get the best GSD availible to me and people have NO idea what she is...You wouldnt think it would bug me , but when you spend 2000 on a dog that has good blood, you get kinda angry when people TELL YOU that it ISNT A GSD. I swear everytime i look at her I say "your a german shepherd...you ARE a german shepherd...dont listen to them sweety, your not a lab"
