I just gave Eva a bath..she hadnt had one for a couple weeks and was just filthy(lake water stuff caked to her)
I bathed her with Dove shampoo(lol i know I shouldnt have)
Dried her off...and low and behold she is fluffy! Not longhaired or anything...just fluffy. Her hair looks long and is waving on her rear end(croup). Her tail is bushier. and her coat feels thinner(i can run my fingers through it now without having puppy undercoat all over me)
Is this normal? after this bath its like she got her adult coat! does it happen just like that?
wow its just amazing, she has an adult coat!!
What is the typical way for a puppy to lose its coat, I dont mean most of it Im talking ALL OF IT.
This is normal - pups will blow their coat at 8 to 14 months - a bath is a great way to get the old coat out - you may want to consider the training DVD I did on Grooming a German Shepherd. Check the web site list of videos.
