I wonder what goes into the training of these dogs? who supplies the scent, in other words? (sorry had to ask) But honestly...where would they? how uncomfortable...
If ya' don't know where the training aids come from this isn't the forum to explain. The internet has enough of those type of sites <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
Well, back to the topic at hand. Not that these post are not funny, I have been laughing my butt off. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
I am not a LEO, but I will throw in my opinions on it. Now I guess the dog dont have to find "the person" the sample came from, because of DNA and sience. So, what we have is a dog trying to find "the sent", so it can be taken back to the lab for testing. I dont know much about rap cases, and I have no numbers, or facts on paper, but how many times is sperm left on a piece of colths or the ground for the dog to find and by the time the dog gets on location is the sent still strong anuff? This is what I wonder.

In one of my Forensic science classes, 80 to 90 percent of all men are secreters. That means you'll find trace amounts of blood in sweat, saliva and sperm. Maybe someone familar with tracking can tell us how hard it would be for a dog to sniff a crime scene that's several hours old. I wonder if it is semen or blood the dogs are being trained to smell.
