Hi All,
I'm bouncing this off anyone for some input. My 5 yr old mixed breed dog had leaked a litle bit of urine last night and also today. I live in the Northeast and it is EXTREMELY HOT right now. My dog has been drinking more water, and I'm wondering if she might have a very full bladder and or a bladder infection. Right now I'm taking her out to "pee" every couple of hours. She generally has a "cast iron bladder" I'm trying to get a few drops on urine in a bowl or plate to see if there is any visible blood. Otherwise she seems like herself. I plan to call the vet, in the mean time I thought I would post on the discussion board. She had a rabies vaccination last tue. I'm taking her to a vet who endorses raw diet, and few vaccinations as well as homeopathy when appropriate.
Trying to keep cool in New Jersey,
Linda
Hi. I'd take my dog to the vet for a blood test and urine screening. You'd feel terrible if he had a kidney or bladder infection or some obstruction like a kidney stone. Always is safer to take your dog to the vet when their drinking increases (even in hot weather) just to be safe. Good luck.
