Is anybody training in maryland or virginia? I am trying to find a public course where I can take my GSD and start getting him used to hurdles and other obstacles. I want to buy some in the future, but I have been told that you can find public courses.
You have two choices for training your dog with obstacles ( three really, you can buy the obstacles yourself and train in your backyard, of course... )
First, contact local PD's that have a K9 unit and ask if they have an obstacle set-up somewhere and if you could train there periodically ( this might work since you're a LEO, likely wouldn't work for civilians ).
Next - look up local agility training clubs and train with them. Do a "google" for them and you should end up with a lot of choices.
