Hey all! I've run across this site several times and I finally decided to join and check things out. I thought I'd introduce myself before I started posting just so people might have an idea of who the heck I am.
I currently have one dog, although I do train my parents' Rott mix when I'm home (usually fixing problems created by lack of consistancy...grr).
My girl is Maggie Mae, a 6 yo Border Collie. I adopted her at 11 mo from the local shelter. She was undersocialized, so I learned how to train in order to work through her fear. In the process I got involved in agility and after a lot of work we are now competing. Maggie has come far enough that she passed the AKC CGC test and is a Delta Society Pet Partner therapy dog. Maggie is also my test dog for new tricks and methods and is a demo dog for my ocassional demos on dog training at schools and events.
I am a 20 yo college student majoring in Animal Science (specialization in Behavior/Wellbeing) and minoring in Psychology. I currently teach private dog training lessons, visit a local nursing home w/ Maggie, am president of the Campus Dog Owners' group, and fit classes and a social life in there as well.
Here's a pic of Maggie and I from 3 years ago and one of Maggie from this week (new camera lol).
