I found out this weekend that my Animal Science department will be making a trip next summer to Czechloslovakia (sp?) and would be interested in setting up a visit to a breeding kennel known for protection dogs. Do of any of you have suggestions on kennels to contact?
I'm guessing there will be a group of about 15 or 20 students, mostly prevet and animal science majors, so a kennel that has staff willing to answer lots of questions would be ideal.
I go to Purdue University in Indiana - the College of Ag here has a great Study Abroad program and this trip (which will also traverse a few other countries) is new this year. I actually went to Trinidad and Tobago this summer through the College of Ag and got three credits in botany at the same time.
I know we'll be visiting a few vet schools and horse farms while overseas, so I mentioned visiting a kennel to one of the profs working on the trip details and he was definately open to the idea. I thought I'd do a little research on opportunities to help him out.
Eurosport K-9 has a kennel in Slovakia owned by Taunya and Josef Mravic. It's in Zlate Moravce, Slovakia. They speak english which is helpful
Another great one where I got my Czech male from is Karel Sedlaceks Kennel in the Czech Republik. The website is: http://www.czech-dogs.com! Check it out.
Will, could you please explain to me why czech-dogs are on your scam list? I would like to know, since I have a dog from them. So far everything has been fine with the puppy we've got from them. I allready have been scamed with my Show male and lost a lot of money on him. I got him from a dog broker here in the US. If you like you can e-mail me private. I would appreciate it very much. Thanks Christine
I forwarded the info on Eurosport to my prof and it looks like we may be visiting there in May 2006! I'm psyched! Too bad I can't justify smuggling a puppy out in my coat pocket lol. Should be a great visit I think.
