Yesterday it was the Swedish championship for workingdogs, I was there and watched IPO and swedish defenceprogramm. If someone intressted the guy placing 6th in the Swedish programm with his dog "Judas" has a video you can download on his site of his performance at the championship in the Swedish programm.
Just click at "Film" on his website, http://www.skyddshund.se
Stig - I am a little curious - how is this sport viewed in your country? I dont want to sound negative but the muzzle work is obviously good enough to place 6th but from what I see completly unconvincing for any kind of serious attack - the heeling is too close and the sleeve and bite remind me of the old DDR competitions I saw in the mid-1980's.
I am not taking a shot at you or your country - far from it - your friend has very good control of his dog - his obedience is excellent. I am just wondering is the dog sport is behind the times there or what are your thoughts?
Stig - it would be a mistake for you to assume that I think Schutzhund is the ultimate dog sport. The fact is the top schutzhund dogs are not stud dogs - never have been and never will be. The sport is slowly declining in value as a breeding tool to measure working ability. The rule changes in Schutzhund are rediculous.
With that said - I would have to see more of the Swedish program to be impressed with it. It may be the people who make the rules need to become better educated on how dogs work and write rules that better demonstrate a dogs abilities.
Is Sweeden also using the mental discription for working dog evaluation that Germany will be going to?
In reading your posts it seems that there are a lot of elements to the Sweedish program. Is there an English translation of the rules somewhere??
With the current state of Schutzhund in the US I certainly wouldn't speak against the Sweedish program, especially if the search for decoys in the woods was judged much like the KNPV or like the old Zollhund II title from the German customs. In fact to an extent the information seems that this is a very similiar test to that one. With the addition of small article search and tracking maybe it is something the ASR folks should look at as well.
I am all for some more fun, less $$$ oriented, less showdog oriented program taking hold here, especially one that seems to promote police behaviors. Here ASR lacks some very fundamental tasks or I'd be all over it.

What is this about? Also do you have any further
information on the new Korung that Germany will be going too?
The SV will be going to a new system that is similiar to what some Nordic Countries have been using plus the addition of bitewwork to replace the current kor. The time frame is 2 years.
