In "Building Drive & Focus", is that a horse crop that Bernhard Flinks uses? I had an ACL repair this spring & sometimes not as quick on my feet as I'd like to be.
It's a buggy whip.
You tie the prey object to the end and just flick your wrist and the item dances across the ground. It mimics prey nicely.
It's a pretty neat tick!
It's good for unmotivated club members also..... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
Not to nit pick but a "crop" is more like a quirt.A "buggy whip" is much longer.A "cattle whip" is actually what is on the Flinks vid.It is short enough you can handle it without getting tangled up and you can tie almost anything on the end.And yes its a fine motivation instrument.
Well the one I saw on the Flinks video is a cattle whip.A longe whip is the same as a buggy whip because it has the length you need when longing the horse on a long longe line.
At least thats what they are called here in Okla where I have trained horses for a living for years.
