I see some working breed dogs being sold as sport or pet,SAR, canidates and to non protection/K-9 homes. Obviously the breeder/trainer didnt think this dog could make a protection/Police K-9 prospect. What criteria/ tests and such do these people use to know if the dog will, or possibly will , bite a human and exhibit other desirable traits needed to do this type of work ?
If the pup has environmental issues, conformation issues and a general lack of desire to work, i would consider that a pet quality pup. the problem with that judgement call is that as the pup matures into a dog, they may become very strong and wind up being too much for a pet home. I think even pet quality working pups need to have a closely screened new home. You may still have a dog with intense drives that need to be controlled. They should definately be spayed and neutered. I wouldn't want to be a breeder. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />
