What is the best kind of dry food I can buy for my GSD who is 8 months. I have looked around and have also seen the supplements that you can give your dog, such as protein supplements and etc. Would those be good as well to give my pup. I do train him pretty frequently outdoors

In my opinion, Canidae is your best 'bang for the buck' food. It all comes down to what you can afford to feed, and what your dog does well on, though, Clifton. German Shepherds can be picky, and they are notorious for having sensitive stomachs, so find a food that your dog does well on and stick to it.
I'm PMing you.

I actually fed that for over 4 years until they changed formula's, guess it's been almost 2 years now. My senior male has allergies that were kept under control until they changed it. Then back to the vet within a wk. Alot of dogs of breeders here locally had problems with dogs getting itchy, so it's not as good as it used to be.

That's funny, Angela. My dog was itchy until I put her on Canidae. She used to get pretty bad dandruff and I was having to bathe her in Sulfodene shampoo once or twice a month, but since I put her on Canidae she hasn't had so much as a flake. Like I said in my last post - you just have to find what works best for you and your own individual dog and go with it. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

I've use Canidae,Eagle Pack,Wellness,Solid Gold Wolfking ,Natural Balance, Nutro,etc.... Finally found the best one yet.... INNOVA EVO. More costly but at least my dog have noticeably more energy, better looking coats , smaller stools, better breath and no junk in the ears. Love this food. It is expensive however.
My dog eats a combo of Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul and Innova EVO. She is also supplemented with Wysong Canned (the meat only varieties). A good site to check out is http://www.dogaware.com It provides a non-biased look at a variety of foods.
